Teaching English to third-graders is quite challenging. The biggest challenge that I faced was to keep their attention and engage them in learning. Third-graders are very active and restless, and it is difficult to get them to sit in one place for long periods. Moreover, children at this age have a limited attention span. As a teacher, my challenge was to hold their interest and make learning fun and interactive.

The Strategies

My strategy was to use a combination of methods to meet the specific learning needs of each child. I used a variety of teaching methods such as songs, games, visual aids, and other hands-on activities to keep the children engaged and interested in learning. I also used a reward system to motivate the children to perform better. I think this helped in building a positive attitude towards learning and encouraged them to take up challenges confidently.

The Results

Looking back, I feel happy and proud of the progress that my students made. Teaching English was not only about providing them with the necessary language skills but also about helping them develop a sense of self-confidence and social skills.
